The Story of Bill and Leo

Today,
I got to work,
Cracked open my cherry coke,
And realized,
I've never officially documented me and Sam's story.
I'm excited to blog about this today:)

Our story is an adventure,
It's a love story,
It has had it's happiest moments,
And those that you are grateful that have passed.
{talking about sam being gone on his mission for 2 years}
But most of all,
This is our story:)
And I love it with all my heart:)

Since our love story started back in 2009,
I'm breaking it up into parts.
It will be easier to understand,
And keep you lovers coming back for more;)

So today,
Part one.
The first day of the rest of our lives:)
Well...
Sort of.
Read on:)

I met Sam on a cold February night,
At the annual Valentines Stake Dance.
My Mom was in the Stake Young Womens,
So of course I was expected to come lead the
Cha-Cha Slide!!
I secretly love these stake dances,
But for some reason I didn't want to go
This particular day.
I'm so glad I did:)

I had just finished one of the famous line dances,
And noticed my friend Bridger standing over by the punch bowl.
{best place to be cause you know a slow dance is coming!}
My friend Holly and I walked over to say hello,
Because let's face it,
Bridger is one of the coolest people to ever walk this earth!
{ok, i may be biased. he introduced me to my husband people!}
When we got over to him,
He had a mystery friend with him,
And he was cute:)

"Hi, Bridger!"
"Hey, this is my friend Sam!"
This people was the first time I met THEE Sam Cannon!!
I said "Hi, Sam!! It's great to meet you!:)"
I was literally as cheerful as could be,
And then Sam responds back,
"Hey."
No emotion.
Barely made eye contact.
And I was left thinking,
Did I forget to shower this morning?!

I had never received such a greeting in my life.
And by greeting I mean,
That "Hey" that pretty much told me to get back to my line dancing!
Sam begs to differ though,
He says I was the one that didn't express any emotion.
And that he was as cheerful as could be!:)
But hey,
I'm telling the story here!
And I beg to differ,
So we will go with what I have to say;)

I quickly wrapped up the conversation with Bridger,
Told him I would see him tomorrow in class,
And slipped in another,
"It was nice to meet you Sam!"
Pretty sure I got a wave goodbye,
And that was that!

Holly and I quickly went back to our festivities.
I walked away thinking,
MAN!!
THAT SAM CANNON IS CUTE!!!:)
But also walked away thinking,
He clearly didn't like me one bit.
I would never see him again anyways,
So get back to your Cha-Cha slide Chelsie!!
For those of you who don't know what the
Cha-Cha Slide is.
Enjoy:)

Happy Birthday love of my life:)

I am forever grateful for the day you were born:)

I love that I get the chance to make a day all about you,
Make you breakfast,
Drive you around town,
Sing happy birthday to you every five minutes,
Surprise you with gifts,
And see you turn a year old and wiser:)

Thanks for being born,
You have changed my life,
And I am so glad you are my husband:)

I love you Sam Cannon:)

I Isn't Perfect

Lately,
I have really been struggling with perfection.
I don't know why us girls put
Perfection at the top of the list,
But I have decided to just take it off.
What was it doing there in the first place?!

I was reminded today that we live in an imperfect world,
And as hard as we try to make things perfect,
The cookies are going to come out burned.
{they are better that way anyways, ha!}

I have learned that the things that are perfect in our lives,
Are the things that are untouched by
Photoshop and filters.
Sometimes you can't even see the perfection,
But rather, you feel it.

I have been blessed with so much,
And I have SO much to be grateful for:)
Hard times may come,
But I'll make it out on top if I do my best!
And so will you:)

So I may shop at the thrift store down the street,
I may struggle in school and the never ending homework,
I may only know how to cook five meals,
I may live in the tinest apartment where threes a crowd,
And I may eat more bags of potato chips than I should,
But guess what?
I am happy:)

This is my life and I am living it:)
I'm living it with my husband by my side,
And my family all around me:)

I guess I just wanted to write this post,
Because happiness is essential in each of our lives,
And we deserve to be so happy:)
We may not have it all and that's great!
If we were already perfect,
This life would get pretty boring!!

I am grateful for the simple things in life,
For those moments in my life that are
Untouched by photoshop and filters,
But rather filled with love and room for improvement!!

What's my new moto you ask?!
Stop comparing your life or talents with others,
You aren't perfect,
You are unique,
And that is what makes you, YOU!!:)

I'm glad I had this ah-HA! moment today,
That I am me and no one else:)
That I have Sam,
My family,
My good friends,
My apartment I call home,
My struggles to learn from,
And a life untouched by perfection:)

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my Dad's birthday,
And I just want him to know that I love him:)

My Dad is one of the busiest people I know,
And I have never heard him complain once in my life!!
He is always so willing to help whoever he can,
And makes sure he leaves them with a
Smile on their faces:)

I have gone to my Dad so many times,
Seeking advice,
Seeking his opinion,
Or just needing someone to talk to,
And he has ALWAYS been there:)

So Dad,
I hope your life slows down a bit today,
So you can enjoy some carrot cake:)

Thanks for all you do,
I sure love you:)
And I am so glad I was blessed with you as my Dad!!:)

Happiest Birthday:)

Brooke Got Baptized

I can't believe little Brooke is eight years old,
And that today she got baptized :)
This was the last of the Cannon clan to
Make this important decision,
And it has been so fun to see her
Excitement as she has prepared for this day:)

Sam and I are so grateful for family,
And to live so close that we are able to visit them often:)
This was such a special day,
And I am so glad we were able to be apart of it:)

We love you Brooke!:)
And so proud of your decision to be baptized:)

Alex Hawker Photography

I don't think there has been a single day
That has gone by since Sam and I got married,
That I don't sit down and go
Through wedding pictures:)
And let's face it,
Every time I blog,
I HAVE to use a picture from the wedding!!
I'm completely obsessed!!!

So just incase you can't get enough of
December 27, 2013 either,

Hello October:)

If there is one thing that I have
ALWAYS been obsessed with,
It's October:)

I love the fall colors,
Sweater weather,
Haunted houses,
Pumpkin carving,
Halloween {especially this year since husband and i have an awesome costume planned}
Cooler weather,
And most of all,
Husbands birthday {I LOVE OCTOBER 21!}
:)

There is one other thing that I am looking
Forward to this month,
And that is celebrating one year since Sam came home from his mission:)
I seriously can't believe that he has almost been
Home a year,
WHAT?!
I remember this time last year when October 1st hit,
I was pretty much freaking out that I was going to see this best friend of mine after 2 years!
Us Cannons have made big plans to celebrate this day:)

I just love October:)
And the transition into the holiday seasons,
It really is the most wonderful time of the year:)

So October,
Surprise me again:)
Chelsie C.

Thanks For Stopping By:)
