Hi September

I can't believe it's September already!!
This is always a fun part of the year
Leading into the holidays:)
We enjoyed our last week of August and welcomed September in with a BANG!

We spent the weekend up in the mountains.
It was beautiful:)
Sam and I have always said that when
We are old and retire,
We are moving to the mountains and living in a cabin!
I can't wait for that day:)
My mom's birthday is on September 1st!
I have always loved that because we always begin September with a celebration!:)
Our family all met up for a yummy
Dinner at Olive Garden.
I think the best part was when the waiter gave us TONS of extra mints because it was my mom's birthday,
BEST DAY EVER!:D
Ellie kept wanting to wear my "jungle hat"
So we decided to just switch
And I wore her bow and she wore my hat!
She was running around Olive Garden
Having the time of her life,
Ellie is defiantly one of my most favorite humans ever:)
So here's to September adventures:)

A Quote

I've heard this quote about a hundred times,
And each time I hear it,
I love it even more than the last time I heard it!:)
For some reason after hearing this quote the other day,
It has been coming back into my mind
Frequently each day since.
This quote was given by such an inspiring woman in the LDS faith,
Marjorie Hinckley:)
She said,

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Sam and I have been living the most care free summer.
We go to work each day,
Come home and eat dinner each evening with each other,
Go for a walk, run, or bike ride,
Read our scriptures and say our prayers together,
And stick in a movie to end the evening with:)
It's so simple,
There is nothing glamorous about it,
But I love our life together,
And this beautiful summer break we have been having:)
I think this quote has rung so true in my life lately,
Because we don't need all those fancy things to be happy,
You just need each other,
Family, the Gospel, a heart of gratitude and service,
And you have reached your destination of happiness:)

{a picture from one of our evening walks}
Happy Thursday!
Husband and I are headed to the mountains tomorrow,
One of our favorite places, EVER!:)

See You Later July

Call me crazy but,
Yesterday I got excited for a moment about Christmas:)
I know it's July and the weather is beautiful right now,
But the holidays speak to my heart
And I am quite excited for them:)
I told the husband about this Christmas joy I was feeling,
And we decided it was best that we go and get ourselves some snow cones to keep summer alive!
We rode our bikes around our little town,
And it was a beautiful summer evening:)
I almost couldn't believe I was wishing
This wonderful weather away!
I'm grateful I live in a place where I
Can experience all the seasons,
Idaho really is the place to be folks!!
For now I'll keep eating my snow cone,
While I sit on pinterest and plan for Christmas:)
It's the best of both worlds I tell ya!

By the way,
It's August tomorrow in case anyone didn't realize that until today like me, ha!

Hello Summer!!

We are officially out of school,
And can I tell you,
IT FEELS SO GOOD!!:)
We celebrated by taking a trip to Rupe's and getting some ice cream
And a scotch and soda!:)
P.s if you haven't ever been to Rupe's,
You are missing out on life!
My goal for the summer is to read all the
Harry Potter books!
Yes,
I'm 22 years of age and haven't read
Harry Potter,
Talk about missing out on life!
I'm just glad husband and I have some time to spend together:)

The Gang Is Married

I have had the GREATEST friends growing up!:)
I have never had to worry about being in sticky situations or dealing with drama,
I have always been able to by myself,
And have ALWAYS and forever had the greatest support from my friends!:)

On Friday,
The last of the gang was married off!:)
It was so special being together in the temple as friends with our husbands,
And seeing Tanece and Rhett be married:)
All I could think as I was sitting in the temple was,
"We did it:)!"
All those late night talks of finding a tall, dark, and handsome husband,
Getting married in the temple,
And attending each others weddings,
It finally happened:)
I never thought we all would actually grow up and
Move past high school,
But we did and it's been fun to see where our individual adventures have taken us:)

The gang doesn't get together very often
Because of our busy schedules,
But when we do the public better WATCH OUT!!!
Because it's just like old times and like we have only been separated for 5 minutes!
We are always laughing and catching each other up on the good times:)

One thing that I have always loved about Tanece is that she was always there for each of us,
She never let us down,
You could always count on her to make a trip to town with you or do something at the spur of the moment!
I am so glad Tanece found someone that makes her so happy and that compliments her so well:)
I can't wait to see where Tanece and Rhett's adventures take them:)
I stole this picture from another person
That was at the wedding,
Because it is just so stinking cute!:)
They were beaming from ear to ear when they came out of the temple!
We really are best friends because we each got married during a different season!
Holly got married in the Spring,
Kallie in the Fall,
Me in the Winter,
And Tanece in the Summer!
If that doesn't say best friends,
I don't know what does, haha!:)
Here's those tall, dark and handsome husbands I was talking about:)
At the luncheon,
Tanece's Dad got up and said a little something something,
And it was so sweet:)
He talked about a quote that hung in one of his children's home that said,
"Together forever, no matter what."
My eyes just filled up with tears because
That quote is so true!
I am so grateful that I have my Sam to call mine forever, no matter what,
And that all of my friends have found that
As well in their spouse.
It was a beautiful day,
And I am so grateful for great friends:)

Adventures From Last Week

Last week was a BLAST!:)
Husband and I took on some fun adventures,
And it just reminded me once again of how lucky I am
To call Sam my guy:)

Our adventures started Tuesday when we were asked to be on a marriage panel for mutual for the  Young Women!
There was an older couple that had
Been married for 50+ years,
A middle aged couple that had been married 15 years,
And then Sam and I:)
The girls came up with such fun questions to ask us,
And I really just loved talking about my Sam and the life we have created together:)
One of the girls asked which way the
Toilet paper faces in our homes,
I exclaimed,
"I wish I could tell you, Sam never replaces the
toilet paper after it runs out!"
Hahaha!!
The panel just reminded me how fun marriage is and how blessed I am to share forever with Sam,
Even if he forgets to replace the toilet paper sometimes;)

On Friday we bought tickets for the drive-in to see Minions and Jurassic World!:)
I had never been to the drive-in here in Rexburg and it was SO much fun!:)
We invited our friends Harry and Alisa to come with us,
And between our two cars we were laughing so hard!!
Minions is must!:)
I wish I could give more a review on Jurassic World,
But Sam and I fell asleep through most of it, ha!
It was such a fun summer night though,
Drive-in's are kind of my new favorite thing!!
Sometimes through all the craziness of school and work,
It's nice to have a week where you eat a lot of cookie dough ice cream and spend time with your best friend:)

I think the only thing that would have made last week the bomb.com,
Is if Pretty Little Liars would have been on!
Seriously,
I didn't get the memo that there was no episode last week,
It was a very dramatic moment in the Cannon household, haha!;)

Husband and I have two weeks left of school,
And then the real adventures begin!:)
We are excited to have a break and spend our summer together:)

Happy Monday Lovers!:)

Thanks For Stopping By:)
